Glenn Gatland - Head Chef at Una Kitchen

Head Chef, Glenn Gatland and his team behind Una Kitchen have a wealth of foodie experience. With Mediterannean inspired wood fired cuisine that showcase local and seasonal Cornish produce, we are sure there will be something for all tastes and occasions. With an outside seating area which overlooks the beautiful gardens and our newly installed children's play area we are sure you will enjoy your visit to Una.

Glenn Gatland, joined the team in April as Head Chef. A Cornishman, Glenn was trained in and ran some of the best kitchens in the South West until taking up position as Head Chef at Hell Bay on the Isles of Scilly (IOS). Whilst there, Glenn and his team were awarded 3 AA Rosettes creating a big draw for food lovers to this remote island location. After 5 years on Bryher, Glenn moved to the privately-owned island of Tresco on IOS. There, Glenn was responsible for three very different food operations. The New Inn, the only pub on the Island and a favourite of visiting yachtsmen currently holds one AA rosette producing classic pub dishes alongside some more gastro pub offerings, the Flying Boat Club, a stunning new creation in 2008 full of artwork and focusing on local produce and The Ruin Beach Café located in one of Tresco’s most idyllic beach locations. Opened in 2012 the focal point of the restaurant is its wood fired oven delivering simple but well executed dishes.

Glenn is also known for hosting pop-up events which we also look forward to planning at Una. For those of you that know Tresco, we envisage most parallels between our new restaurant at Una with Ruin Beach Café. Glenn has relocated back to the mainland after 10 years on the Isles of Scilly with his wife Tracey and son Jack.
