It has been a week since St Ives Food and Drink Festival and what a weekend that was. St Ives came to life with a fun packed weekend this May. Held on Porthminster beach, our taste buds have travelled the world, from Cornish scallops and crab fries to exquisite Nigerian cuisine. We have learned cooking techniques from the most acclaimed chefs in Britain - Nathan Outlaw, Jose Pizzaro, Sophie Michell and Jane Devonshire - to name a few. The evenings came alive with music from Sandy Acre 7, comedy sets from Kernow King and many more. St Ives Surf School was also present giving us a taste of surfing and kayaking.
Many of you might not know, but the founder of the festival is no other than Damian Sargent, also known as the brains behind Una St Ives. The resort not only sponsored the event but also had the priviledge to accommodate the celebrity chefs and their families for the weekend. And we went big! We have kicked off the weekend with a VIP sponsors dinner on Friday 12th May which turned out to be one of the best evenings the resort has ever had. We have had a great night with live music from Sandy Acre 7, St Ives Brewery pop up bar and delicious barbecued food sensations cooked by our very own Cornish Head Chef - Glenn Gatland.
After the huge success we had welcoming and entertaining such a prestigious guest list, we are proud to say that Una Kitchen has placed itself firmly on the foodie map for future events.
Una Kitchen is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and traditional roasts on Sundays. Dinner is served on Fridays and Saturday evenings.
